We meet at the Armed Forces Military
Museum, 2050 34th Way North, Largo,
the first Tuesday of each month. You can arrive as early as 6:30. The
meeting will be from 7 - 9 PM. Click here for map:
Membership dues are $25 / year or $3 / meeting
with the first meeting FREE. Our biggest event is what we lovingly
call Pelikon, the IPMS Region 11 Regional contest. This is our biggest
contest usually held every two years. We always have hundreds of
entries and many vendors selling goodies.
During our meetings we talk about the latest
from the kit manufacturers and have informal classes to keep our
skills sharp and maybe learn a thing or two. We also have a "Show
and Tell" session where club members show off their latest works
of art. There is also a raffle of various kits and supplies.
Our members enjoy modeling armor, aircraft, automobile, ships, figures
and sci-fi. Our skill levels run from beginner to expert and all
levels in between. We also like to support our community by getting involved
with various projects that are happening locally. We have been
actively supporting the efforts of the Make N Takes at some of the
local hobby shops and display our models during the air shows at
MacDill Air Force base.
Amazingly we still have four or five of our
original members who regularly attend.
